What's up Yukon

Having a wood-fired coffee roaster is more than just a gimmick—it’s good business sense for Philippe and Leandra Brient, co-owners of Atlin Mountain Coffee Roasters. Sure, it fits with the idea people have of Northerners, all woodstoves and plaid lumberjackets, and it fits with the personal ethos of the couple, who try to limit the footprint they leave on the Earth, but it’s more than that. Despite the learning curve that came with the machine, it’s just more reliable for the Brients than the alternative. Introducing: Whisky barrel aged coffee

We were looking for something different, thinking hard about creating a coffee experience that is new, that arouses the taste buds and that warms the soul. Then the thought of aging coffee beans in Whiskey barrels came across our minds. By the end of August, local oak barrels, still dripping wet with whisky, were filled with precious organic coffee beans. Ready for a whiskey barrel aging adventure.

Countdown!

Spirits are high here at the roastery, to say the least....  We have been busy experimenting and have come up with a whole new coffee experience.
